사용법Guide
말하는 시계 (Speaking Clock)
Windows 알림 영역(트레이)에 상주하며 시간을 주기적으로 알려줍니다.
기능
- 정각과 매시 15분, 30분, 45분에 시각을 음성으로 알려줍니다. 개별 시각의 온오프 가능합니다.
- Windows UI 언어가 한국어면 한국어로, 그 외에는 영어로 발음합니다.
- Windows의 12/24시간 형식을 따릅니다.
- [지금 말하기]는 현재 분을 즉시 말합니다.
- 발화 전에 자체 합성 예령음(상행 3음 벨)을 재생하고 약 2초 뒤 시각을 말합니다.
- 정각 발화를 괘종시계로 정하면 대신 괘종 타격음을 재생합니다.
- 트레이 아이콘을 왼쪽 클릭하면 활성/비활성을 전환합니다. 비활성 상태에서는 시보 발화와 D-day 알림이 멈추고, 진행 중 타이머·포모도로는 남은 시간에서 멈춥니다. 꺼 두면 아이콘이 회색이 되고 툴팁에 상태가 표시됩니다.
- 타이머: 프리셋(1/3/5/10/15/30/60분) 또는 사용자 지정(기본 30분)으로 카운트다운합니다.
- 완료되면 알람음과 [반복] / [닫기] 창이 나타납니다.
- 포모도로: 집중 / 짧은 휴식 / 긴 휴식 주기를 상시 미니창으로 관리합니다.
- 오늘 완료한 개수는 하트(♥ n)로 표시합니다.
- D-day: 여러 개를 등록할 수 있고, 1시간 간격으로 알림이 반복됩니다.
- 심야 무음: 22:00~08:00에는 소리를 내지 않고 알림창으로만 알립니다.
- 시스템 업타임: 부팅 시각·현재 시각·가동 시간을 보여줍니다.
- 시스템 출력이 음소거이면 음성 대신 알림창으로 현재 시각을 알립니다.
- 윈도우 잠금 시에는 시각 발화를 하지 않습니다.
빠른 시작
- SpeakingClock.exe를 실행하면 트레이에 아이콘이 나타납니다.
- 왼쪽 클릭하면 활성/비활성을 전환하고, 오른쪽 클릭하면 메뉴가 열립니다.
- [지금 말하기]를 선택하면 현재 분을 즉시 말합니다.
- [시각 말하기] > [정각 / 15분 / 30분 / 45분]에서 각 시점을 고릅니다. 정각을 음성으로 말할지 괘종시계로 알릴지도 여기서 정합니다.
- [시간 관리]에서 타이머·포모도로·D-day를 씁니다.
- 로그인 시 자동 실행은 [설정] > [Windows 시작 시 실행]에서 켭니다.

타이머
- [시간 관리] > [타이머 시작]을 선택합니다.
- 프리셋(1/3/5/10/15/30/60분)을 누르거나 분/초를 입력해 [시작]을 누릅니다.
- 사용자 지정 기본값은 30분 0초입니다.
- 진행 중에는 [시간 관리] > [타이머 시작]에 남은 시간(예:
타이머 04:58)이 보입니다.[타이머 취소]로 멈춥니다.
- 트레이 아이콘 툴팁에도 진행 상황이 표시됩니다.
- 완료되면 알람음과 완료 창이 나타납니다. [반복]은 같은 시간으로 다시 시작하고 [닫기]는 닫습니다.
시스템 시각을 바꿔도 타이머와 포모도로는 그대로 동작합니다(단조 클록 기준).
포모도로
- 기본값은 집중 25분 / 짧은 휴식 5분 / 긴 휴식 30분이며, 긴 휴식은 집중 4회마다입니다. 값은 [시간 관리] > [포모도로] > [설정...]에서 바꿉니다.
- 미니창이 화면 우하단에 남은 시간과 단계를 보여줍니다. 본문을 끌어 옮길 수 있습니다.
- 단계가 끝나면 상단 버튼이 ▶로 바뀝니다. 누르면 다음 단계가 시작됩니다.
- 오늘 완료한 포모도로 수는 하트(♥ n)로 표시됩니다. 날짜가 바뀌면 0으로 돌아가고, 같은 날 재부팅해도 유지됩니다.
D-day
- 여러 개의 D-day는 [시간 관리] > [D-day 설정...]에서 관리합니다.
- 목록에서 D-day를 고르면 오른쪽 달력에서 그 날짜를 확인할 수 있고, 메시지도 고칠 수 있습니다.
- 목록은 과거, 현재, 미래 순으로 보이고, 저장한 날짜는 달력에 굵게 표시합니다.
- D-day가 하나라도 등록되어 있으면 처음 실행 시 알림 카드가 바로 나타나고 1시간 간격으로 다시 나타납니다.
- D-day 알림은 지정한 날짜가 되었는지와 무관하게 반복되며, 중요한 약속이나 기념일을 자주 기억하기 위한 동작입니다.
음소거 시 알림창
- 시스템 출력이 음소거이거나 오디오 장치가 없으면, 음성 대신 알림창에 현재 시각을 표시합니다.
- 크기는 [설정] > [대체 알림창: 크게 / 작게]에서 고릅니다. 선택은 저장됩니다.
- 알림창을 클릭하면 바로 닫힙니다.
참고
- 음성은 Windows SAPI를 사용합니다. UI 언어에 맞는 음성을 사용하며 없으면 영어로 발음합니다.
- 윈도우 잠금 상태에서는 시보 발화하지 않습니다.
- SpeakingClock.ini에 사용자 선택 값을 저장합니다.
- 타이머 상태와 포모도로 진행 상태는 현재 세션에만 유지하고 프로그램 재시작시 초기화됩니다.

Speaking Clock
A Windows notification-area (tray) clock that periodically announces the time. No installation is required; just run the executable.
Features
- Announces the time on the hour and at :15 / :30 / :45 (each independently toggleable).
- Speaks Korean when the Windows UI language is Korean, otherwise English.
- Follows the Windows 12/24-hour format (e.g. It is nine PM. / It is twenty-one o'clock.).
- [Speak now] immediately reads the current minute.
- Before speaking it plays a built-in synthesized cue (a rising three-note bell) and waits about two seconds. If the hour announcement is set to the clock chime, it plays that chime instead.
- Left-click the tray icon to toggle active/disabled (a global pause). While disabled, the clock announcements and D-day popups stop and a running timer/pomodoro freezes at its remaining time; enabling resumes from that point. When off, the icon turns grey and the tooltip shows the state.
- Timer: count down from a preset (1/3/5/10/15/30/60 min) or a custom value (30 min default); on completion it plays an alarm and shows a [Repeat] / [Close] window. Progress appears in the tray menu and tooltip.
- Pomodoro: manage focus / short break / long rest cycles with an always-visible mini window and a heart (♥ n) for the number of pomodoros completed today.
- D-day: you can register several. With any registered, a reminder card appears on launch and then every hour, listing them nearest-to-today first, regardless of whether the chosen dates have arrived, so important promises and anniversaries stay in view.
- Night mute: between 22:00 and 08:00 it stays silent and only shows the notification window.
- System uptime: opens a window showing boot time, current time and time since boot.
- When the system output is muted, shows the current time in a notification window (toast) instead of speaking.
- Does not announce the clock time while the PC is suspended (sleeping).
- Blocks duplicate launches: if it is already running, it shows a message and exits.
Quick Start
- Run SpeakingClock.exe. The tray icon appears.
- Left-click the icon to toggle active/disabled (a global pause); right-click to open the menu.
- Select [Speak now] to hear the current time.
- In the [Announce time] submenu, pick [On the hour / 15 / 30 / 45 minutes] and choose whether the hour is spoken or announced with a clock chime.
- Use [Time tools] for the timer, pomodoro and D-day.
- For automatic launch at sign-in, use [Start with Windows] under the [Settings] menu.

Timer
- From the tray menu, open [Time tools] and choose [Timer start].
- Click a preset (1/3/5/10/15/30/60 min) or type minutes/seconds and press [Start].
- The custom default is 30 min 0 sec; a custom value you start is remembered while the app runs.
- While running, the [Timer start] item shows the remaining time (e.g.
Timer 04:58);use [Cancel timer] to stop it.

- On completion, an alarm plays and a window appears. [Repeat] restarts the same duration; [Close] ends it.
The timer and pomodoro are unaffected by changes to the system clock (they use a monotonic clock).
Pomodoro
- Defaults: focus 25 min / short break 5 min / long rest 30 min, with a long rest every 4 focus rounds. To change them, open the [Pomodoro] submenu under [Time tools] and choose [Settings...].
- A mini window at the bottom-right shows the remaining time and phase; drag its body to move it.
- When a phase ends, the top button turns into ▶; press it to start the next phase (clicking the body does the same).
- The number of pomodoros completed today is shown as a heart (♥ n). It resets when the local date changes, and survives a reboot on the same day.
D-day
- Manage several D-days from [D-day settings...] under [Time tools].
- Pick an item in the left list to check or change its date on the right calendar; you can edit the message as well. Press [Save] to apply the date and message. Saving the same date again updates that item instead of adding a duplicate (one item per date). [Delete] removes the selected item.
- The list is ordered past · present · future, and saved dates are shown bold in the calendar.
- With at least one D-day registered, the reminder card appears on launch and then every hour, whether or not the chosen dates have arrived. It is meant to keep important promises and anniversaries in view.
- The card shows the registered D-days nearest to today first: the closest is shown large and the others as rows (a +N more line beyond five). Use [Settings...] to open the dialog or [Close] to dismiss it; removing every item stops the reminders.
Notification when muted
- If the system output is muted, no audio device is available, or the voice engine cannot be used, the notification window shows the current time instead of speaking.
- Choose the size from [Fallback: Large / Fallback: Small] under [Settings] (the choice is saved).
- Click the notification to dismiss it immediately.
Notes
- Voice output uses the Windows Speech API (SAPI). A matching voice must be installed for the UI language; English is used when no match is found.
- Announcement toggles last for the running session. App settings are stored in
SpeakingClock.ininext to the executable, or under%APPDATA%\SpeakingClock\when the install folder is not writable. Only Start with Windows uses the registry (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run). - Timer and pomodoro progress are session-only and reset when the app restarts (the pomodoro's daily count is the exception: it survives a restart on the same day).
